but becoming

requires our

responsibility.

Matthew 25:21 (NLT)

“Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more

responsibilities.”

From the beginning of Scripture, God shows us that He does not work alone. He creates with intention, establishes order, and then entrusts development to people.

Creation was complete in design, but unnished in development. God

planted seeds, then commanded

humanity to rule, tend, and grow what He began. This was not weakness—it was partnership.

Jesus taught this clearly in the parable of the talents. Two servants took what they were given and multiplied it. One servant did nothing, not because he lost it, but because he failed to grow it. He returned it exactly as it was.

The issue was not rebellion.

The issue was responsibility.

God is not impressed by preservation without progress. He is pleased when what He plants is developed.

Becoming who God designed us to be requires intentional growth. Showing up is important, but transformation happens when we take

ownership of what God has already placed in us.

Application for the Family

Faith grows when it is practiced.

Hope grows when it is protected.

Spiritual life grows when it is stewarded daily.

Families grow stronger when everyone participates in becoming. God has already started something in each of us. The question is not what has God given, but what are we doing with it?

Family Prayer

“Lord, we thank You because You are the God who begins good things in our lives. You are the One who planted faith in us, who offered grace, forgiveness, and purpose before we ever knew how to walk in them.

We recognize today that what You start, You invite us to steward. You have placed seeds in our hearts, in our family, and in our future, not to be hidden, but to be grown. Forgive us for the moments when we have settled for preservation instead of progress, or comfort instead of growth.

Teach us to take responsibility for what You have entrusted to us. Help us to be faithful with the small things, our time, our attitudes, our prayers, our obedience, so You can trust us with more. Shape our choices so they align with the life You are calling us to become.

Help us grow what You have given. Help us multiply faith, protect hope, and develop spiritual discipline in our home. We don’t want to simply show up; we want to become fruitful. We offer ourselves to You again today, our hearts, our habits, and our future. Take what You have started in us and teach us how to grow it into something that honors You. Amen.”
